These are a few but there are many more in walking distance. The decor has a homely cosy feeling with a lively bar and restaurant serving great food. Ling Long serves modern Asian specialties in a casual dining space.

I have been coming to this wonderful city for about 10 years and it has never failed to inspire me with visual delights. It wouldnt be a good visit without a trip to Svenskts tenn which houses the largest collection of Joesf frank from gorgeous patterned fabrics used on textiles, trays, papers and upholstered midcentury chairs. Its a delight.  I came away with lots of inspiration and a small tray to fit inside my travel bag.

Formex was great with 3 halls to walk show casing s/s collections for 2017. Top of my list was Kristina Stark, a swedish designer who has studied in Stockholm and london, at Central St Martins. I have one of her pieces already, the box light a candlestick which has the matchbox included within the shape, her ceramics are beautiful, they will look devine in the shop.

Theres a wonderful area for new and exciting designers fresh from graduation who have been spotted by the show. The collections are un commercial and simplistic in design. Gorgeous prints ceramics and innovation. The use of green was very strong and teamed with dusty pink was so pretty.  Sustainability was very key and the use of recycled/ treated papers made into wonderful products was inspiring. Going into feb we have been inspired by our visit so a new delivery of midcentury furniture has been delivered. Elegant sofa’s and small chairs are always a favourite. Some are in good condition but can be recovered in a fabric of your choice. We are going to be adding some of the furniture online if you need any help please contact us at Vanil. x
