I remember as a child being asked by my Mum to help set the table for supper. This was a ritual always for the return of my Dad from work. It wasn’t fancy but always with table mats and a glass for water. Mum was a traditional cook so we always had a main meal served with bread. Today in our busy lifes we love bringing the family together, welcoming friends into our homes for dinner partys, to dress the table while my Henry is cooking. Its so important that the table looks beautiful, I feel so lucky as we have so many gorgeous collections to use for styling. We had great fun recently with Kay from @kingshipscreative to style the shop and the dining room table. Sometimes less is more to create a perfect setting. We used the Tine K home deli collection mixed with the gorgeous moss green ceramics and for the centre an oversized chopping board in beautiful wood. The use of rosemary and foliage brings the summertime alive and kay handmade the flower chandelier to finish the table and add the detail. Old vintage grain sacs have been used as table runners adding texture and layering. These also look great stuffed with a cushion for a bed or a bench.
Eating outdoors is one of the many joys of summer, it brings people together eating and chatting. Add lanterns to warm up your garden and use as decor as a feature on the table. They look great hanging from a tree.
Enjoy your Summer lovely people mx
